Coming from a family with
over 100 years of musical
experience, George GiBi "Geebz"
del Barrio almost had no choice
but to keep it all going.
Before becoming a full-time media composer
Geebz spent 20 years writing,
arranging and producing music
for developing artists and label
development deals.
In
the late 1990's
Gibi became a full-time composer
and never looked back at the
recording industry until opening
up TalkMusicBiz.com to help
those with the dream; or at
least keep the hope alive
:)
As for the family history, in
the early 1900's in Argentina,
family Members like
Alejandro Gutiérrez del Barrio were
composers and conductors in
Argentina and also owned and
taught at the family music
conservatory in Mendoza (still
in action today- Musica
Instituto Gutierrez del Barrio).
His father,
Jorge del Barrio
is one of the music industry's
long time composer, arranger, orchestrator and
conductors that has seen 60
years in the business.
Still to this day at 77 years
old, he just wrapped up Sheryl
Crow's Christmas CD, HBO's John
Adams and
the hit movie
Kit Kittredge:
An American Girl

His uncle Eddie del Barrio is
know in the Latin Jazz Fusion
world for the
Latin Jazz
Band
Caldera as well as co-writer of
Earth Wind & Fires "Fantasy".
Eddie also co wrote and produced
Stan Getz last album
Appassionato with friend Herb
Alpert.
